Located in the heart of the Boise State Campus, the Student Union is the center for student activities and involvement. It brings together opportunities for all students to experience community, meet up with friends, attend a lecture series, enjoy a cup of coffee, or just hang out and study. The Student Union is also a multipurpose venue featuring 12 general meeting rooms and two Grand Ballrooms, which serves as a banquet room or lecture hall. The building has wireless Internet service. The Student Union is a flexible option for small-large sized events and conferences.

Ballrooms

The Jordan Ballroom

The Jordan Ballroom, named for Grace Jordan, is the largest Ballroom on campus.  It offers a beautiful setting for you large banquet or lecture. The ballroom conveniently has two permanent screens and projects at the head of the room for presentations. The rooms also have a variety of audiovisual options to enhance your event.

The Simplot Ballroom

The Simplot Ballroom, named after JR Simplot, is the Student Union’s only Ballroom with windows. This elegant and spacious room can host a large banquet, lecture or can be broken down to host breakout rooms. This ballroom also features two permanent projectors and screens along with other audiovisual enhancements.

The Hatch Ballroom

The Hatch Ballroom, named for Ada Hatch, is the Student Union’s smallest ballroom. It can hold a medium size banquet or lecture. It is often a popular room for ballroom dance clubs or parties because of its beautiful parquet floors. The room had numerous audiovisual enhancements including a disco ball.

Special Events Center

In the Special Events Center (SpEC), all the world’s a stage with continental seating. Dance, drama or opera, conferences, lectures or films, the 435-seat proscenium theater is an exceptional venue for raising the curtain on a wide spectrum of programs and activities. Each year, audiences throughout Idaho applaud award-winning speakers and performers from across the country, and around the world. From the lobby to the loading dock, everything in between is top-of-the-line.

Special Events Center

Amenities include a box-office, two 12-person dressing rooms including bathrooms with showers, a green room with a sink, a large cinema screen with 35mm and LCD projection, fly system and hanging schedule, and LCD screens in the lobby with house live feed video.

Parking

Parking arrangements can now be made through your Event Coordinator during the event planning process.  We are committed to providing each client with the most convenient parking for your guests.

EVENT PARKING OPTIONS

Hosted Event Parking – The reserving organization may choose to pay for parking for their guests at the Event Parking Rate of $2.00/space/day.   Guests will still need to enter their space # into the payment kiosk but when they select the Event Button, they will not be prompted for payment.  A report is run directly following the end of the event and is used to produce the final invoice.

Guest Pays Parking – When hosting parking on behalf of your event guests is not feasible, guests may still park in a designated area at the Event Parking Rate of $2.00/space/day by utilizing the payment kiosks and the Event Button on the screen.  Guests will enter their space # and supply payment to the machine, retaining the receipts for their records.

** EXCEPTIONS MAY APPLY TO EVENINGS WHERE THERE IS A MEN’S BASKETBALL GAME OR A TACO BELL ARENA EVENTS. PLEASE CONSULT WITH YOUR EVENT COORDINATOR FOR THE BEST PARKING PLAN.
